PRESCHOOL WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD

PRESCHOOL CELEBRATES WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
Last week, St. Peter’s PDO and preschool classes celebrated the Week of the Young Child. This year marks the 50th anniversary of WOYC festivities, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It is an annual, fun-filled week celebrating early learning, young children, teachers, families, and communities.

Each day of the week, the classes participated in various activities and color-themed dress-up days.

For “Music Monday,” the classes wore red and celebrated with special musical visits from Pastor Randy Rozelle, instrument craft projects, and music and movement.

For “Tasty Tuesday,” the classes wore orange and celebrated with orange-colored snacks – some got to enjoy them outside!

For “Work Together Wednesday,” the kids wore yellow and worked together to complete service projects around the school. Some kids helped to dust the sanctuary, and others delivered cards and pictures to staff members around the building.

For “Artsy Thursday,” the classes wore green and made art projects to be displayed outside at Friday’s special event for families.

For “Family Friday,” the classes wore blue and purple, and families were welcomed to St. Peter Friday morning with a “grab and go” table of snacks and water to kick off the day. Teachers and students had decorated the area with the creations from Artsy Thursday, and music was playing to welcome parents and children to St. Peter.

The week was filled with hands-on, collaborative activities, colorful classes of kids, and a spirit of creativity and celebration of our littlest Saints.
