Here are the projects we have so far:

      • WARM HEARTS BLOOD DRIVE – Be Someone’s Hero: Donate blood and save lives.  Sunday, September 18, 8:00am-Noon, in Bartz Hall.  Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments get reserved beds.  Sign up at Heartland Blood Centers.      Project Coordinators:  Erin Robinson and Jen Koclanis.    Register Now


      • PACK RATS –  Pack meals for sending overseas at Feed My Starving Children, 1072 National Parkway in Schaumburg.  Label bags, fill and weigh bags or pack bags in boxes and move them to storage.  Choose from 3 time slots.  Saturday, September 17,  9:00-11:00am, 11:30-1:30pm, 4:30-6:30pm.   Ages 5 & up.  Sign up early!  Reserved spaces that have not been filled by Sept. 11 will be released to the public.  If you sign up after Sept. 11, we cannot guarantee a space.   Project Coordinator:  Melissa Newkirk.   Register Now 


      • JESUS TIME! –   Join Pastor Klopke for Bible story, singing,  prayer time and craft for resident adults with disabilities at Clearbrook, 3201 Campbell Street, in Rolling Meadows.   Sunday, September 18, 2:00-3:00pm. Ages 6 and up.  Children must be with an adult.  Max. 15.  Project Coordinator:  Pastor Klopke.  Register Now


      • COMMUNITY THREADS – Lend a hand at Community Threads, our upscale resale shop, at 250 W. Rand Road in Arlington Heights.   Help sort clothes, bag purchases, greet, clean furniture or price items.  Friday, September 16, 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, September 17, 10:00am-1:00pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm.  Ages 10 and up; ages 10-15 must be with an adult on a 2/1 ratio.   Project Coordinator:  Mary Mayo.  Register Now


      • HANDMADE WITH LOVE – Knit/crochet simple scarves or hats to be included in care packages sent by Operation Gratitude to our military overseas.  Bring your own needles and yarn (must be able to provide fiber content of the yarn).  Yarn must be Size 4 or Medium Worsted, acrylic or natural fibers and not scratchy.  If you are unable to purchase your own yarn, please note that at the bottom of the registration form.  For more details Click Here. Drop in anytime on Saturday, September 17, 9:00am-4:00pm in the Life Center and Sunday, September 18, 10:00am-2:00pm in the Small Gym.  Ages 8 & up.  Children must be accompanied by an adult who can help them with the knitting/crocheting.  Project Coordinator:  Clarisse Moss.   Register Now 


      • FALL FESTIVAL – Help with the Fall Festival at Walcamp in Kingston, Illinois.  Help set up on Saturday, September 17, Arrive at 9:00am for meeting.   Volunteers are welcome to stay for pot luck dinner and can make arrangements to stay overnight to help on Sunday).   Help with with the festival on Sunday, September 18.   Festival starts at noon, but you can arrive at 9:00am and attend the worship service at 11:00am.    Register Now 


      • PAINT-A-THON – We have a team joining our community’s annual Paint-A-Thon.  Teams will spend a day painting the homes of veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities who do not have the financial or physical resources to do it themselves.       • ELECTRONIC RECYCLING EVENT – Assist  at the Buffalo Grove recycling/shredding event. Help is needed to remove electronics from cars and placing them in bins.  Must be at least 15 years old and able to lift materials out of the vehicles. In the parking lot at 151 Hastings Drive, Buffalo Grove, just north of the Banner Plumbing parking lot on Lake Cook Road (East of Weiland).  Special Date:  Saturday, September 10, 9:00am-Noon.  Arrive by 8:30am.  Limit 10-12.  Register Now 


      • CARDS FOR HEROES –   Make cards for our nation’s heroes–show them how much we care about them.  These cards will be included in care packages sent by Operation Gratitude to deployed troops, new recruits, veterans and wounded heroes.  Sunday, September 18, 10:00am-1:00pm in the Small Gym.  All ages.  Great for families.  Coordinator:  Angie Blaesner.  Register Now
