St. Peter Lutheran School String and Orchestra Program

Leading Students to a Full Life in Christ Through God’s Gift of Music

Our Program

The St. Peter Lutheran School Music Department is committed to nurturing the spiritual, mental, and physical growth of students through the making of excellent music. At St. Peter, we recognize that music is a gift from God, and that its purpose is first and foremost to honor Him. Through their many talents and abilities, our students bring glory to the One who gives them full life in Christ.

St. Peter’s string program gives students a unique outlet for musical expression and creativity. Through consistent practice and commitment to learning, students develop technique, literacy, and musicianship. Students are given performance opportunities throughout the year at concerts, in church, and during chapel. Above all, students will learn how to use their instrument to give praise and honor to the God who created music.

Our Instructor

Daniela Folker is a Chicago-area teacher and professional violinist who has been performing on her instrument for the past twenty-five years. She joins the St. Peter faculty as

one who strongly believes in the concept of teaching music as a means of praising God, and grew up playing her violin in church services. Mrs. Folker has played professionally with ensembles such as the Joffrey Ballet Orchestra, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra, the Chicago Philharmonic, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and many more. She has collaborated with artists such as Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, and Enrique Iglesias. Currently, she teaches at the College of DuPage and at Judson University. We are thrilled to welcome her to St. Pete
